National Dog Day – August 26, 2020

What are these cats doing here? I thought this was dog’s only day!

Celebrate National Dog Day

National Dog Day celebrates all breeds, pure and mixed. It intends to bring attention to the number of dogs that need rescue from public shelters and rescues. National Dog Day honors family dogs and dogs that work selflessly to save lives, keep us safe and bring us comfort.

Celebrating National Dog Day is as easy as giving your four-legged friend a big hug!

August 26th is also Women’s Equality Day!

Women’s Equality Day commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, granting the right to vote to women. The amendment was first introduced in 1878. In 1971, the U.S. Congress designated August 26 as Women’s Equality Day.

By the way, National Dog Day was founded by a woman (Colleen Paige) in 2004. This makes August 26th extra special because Jupe’s Treats is also a woman owned business!
